The world’s favorite sport, football, or more normally known as soccer, is a game played amongst two teams having 11 participants each. It’s played at a ground rectangular in shape with a synthetic or grass surface. The centres of both the shorter sides of the rectangle have the goal post and a bar on the top. The goal to be attained of the game is to kick a spherical object, or in more mutual words a football, through the goal which is guarded by the opponent’s goal keeper. Besides the goal keeper no other player is permitted to use their hands to handle the ball. Other participants can make use of their feet to kick the ball around and score goals. Use of one’s head or torso is also permitted while manageing the ball in mid air.
Soccer was systematize in 1863 by the football association, which laid the foundation for the sport we all love to watch and play today. Fifa governs the state of worldwide football today and also hosts the most awaited tournament each four years, the fifa earth cup. Besides worldwide tournaments, the domestic leagues are doing a good occupation in preserving the soccer spirit in several countries.
